At the beginner stage, the focus is on learning the fundamental techniques of handbuilding with clay.
You’ll become familiar with preparing clay, joining pieces safely, and shaping basic forms using pinch, coil, and slab methods.
The emphasis is on understanding how clay behaves, building confidence with your hands, and completing simple projects such as small bowls, cups, or decorative items.
At this level, the goal is to get you to a stage where you feel comfortable manipulating clay, can successfully join and shape basic forms, and have a solid foundation for more complex handbuilding projects.
