Throwing
Refiner sessions are aimed at potters who are already comfortable with the fundamentals and want to focus on improving precision, efficiency, and personal expression in their work.
At this stage the emphasis shifts toward refining technique, developing consistency across multiple pieces, and pushing your skills further. You may work on more complex forms, throwing larger or thinner pieces, and exploring more sophisticated shapes and proportions.
At this stage there is a stronger focus on refining technique and solving the practical challenges that arise when throwing. You’ll work on improving control, consistency, and efficiency at the wheel, paying close attention to details such as wall thickness, rim finish, and overall form. The aim is to help you develop a more confident and reliable throwing practice, where your technique allows you to produce consistent, well-made pieces.
